Sometimes I feel super duper numb.....

I wish i could take certain feelings from my life and bottle them up to experience them at a later date. See where I was and where I have gone. I think we should look into this.

I went through the ENTIRE day today thinking it was Thursday.
WTF?

Justin came in last night.....
I got home and he was out already.
I HATE being used like this.
grrrr.....

a brief story on who he is... for my Amanda.....

Justin used to work with Chris and I at the store. He was engaged and then his lady dumped him for a chick. He took it super bad, and we invited him to stay with us to get back on his feet........ 5 months later..... he moved out. Then he fell in love with a chick from Australia.... he came and stayed with us AGAIN for 2 months hemming and hawing about moving to Australia..... He did. He was gone for about 5 months. Then he came back and stayed with us for 6 weeks..... ended up going back to binghamton. Then he wanted to move back to aussie.... he says he was still in love. He came and stayed with us for (what was supposed to be 3 days) for 3 weeks. He called his bird and said how excited he was to come back to her (the day of his flight) and she was like "dont bother." He stayed here and cried the entire time. Slept all day, up all night... and like a teenager did NOTHING for the house.

NOW.....

he is back. Chris said he could stay with us.... I have no idea what his agenda is. I am not sure if he is here for vacation.... for a job.... or what. The sucky part is... that when he is gone he doesnt talk to me or even keep me in the loop on his happenings at all.

SO PISSED I AM.

oh well....

I am done venting for now....

the need to vent has brought me BACK to livejournal.

Just another manic.....

work was stupid....
tomorrow I am off to a trade show in Hershey PA.
Fun times!
2 hour drive there, 2 hours back and then one hour train ride home.
Gotta love it.
PLUS....
when I get home Justin will be here....
living in my living room for an unknown period of time.

He pisses me off.....
this is the 4th time he has stayed with us.

I have taken the time to come up with reasons I am NOT a fan of him living here:
1) he is not a real friend - ie-> he forgets to keep in touch when he is not here. He only calls or emails when he needs something.
2) No set time table - He has yet to tell us how long he plans to stay here
3) no set plan - I am not sure if he is coming for a "visit" or looking to relocate to NYC.
4) having him here is like having a teenager - I AM THE ONE WHO CLEANS UP AFTER HIM. Something about dishes piling up that bothers me.
5) Chris can escape, I can't - He always comes after me to entertain him. While he stays here he is more like a tenant (a free one) but comes and goes as he pleases, stays up all night and sleeps all day.

God.... I used to like the kid and feel bad for him, but I dropped that the 2nd time he lived with us.

The longest he has stayed with us is 5 months.

I will SHOOT myself if that happens (not really).

Went well....
I was up all friday night with food poisoning.
good times.
2 hours of sleep (at most)
and then off to a 13 hour day of shooting the show.

I came home, missed the hockey game, and stayed up until 4 AM transferring tapes to digital (quicktime) for editing.
I need a vacation from this weekend.

on another note... Justin is coming EARLY to stay with us.

Harry Potter - Book 7 is done!

I finished it Saturday Night. I will post no spoilers here.

We started out the evening by going to the Scholastic book party. It was neat. They had the entire street shut down and set up with a Muggle Board, face painting, Magicians, and street entertainers.

We waited in line for about a half hour to get to the party. It was a nice night out and the wait was not all that long when you are with good friends.

Here is the Muggle Board. People got to write messages to JK or Harry and his crew.

I wrote a simple thank you.

They had a Penscive in the midst of the street. They had copies of all 7 books there, including one of #7 autographed by JK herself. I got a photo of it below:

While wandering through they had a Womping Willow, huge pumpkin type lights, and lots of people. We even saw Salmon Rushdie walking through with his kid. I am sure there were others but we were so in awe.

We kept discussing how this type of excitement over a book will probably never happen again. There were people there of every age, every race, and every one was getting along. It was cool.

After the Scholastic fun, we caught the train and had some Japanese foods. The menu was a bit over whelming. Not just due to the food choices, but the general busy-ness of it all. The specials sheet was special. it even had "Bull penis" on it. How many places have that??? Huh???

After dinner they gave you a shot glass full of sugar so you could go and make your own cotton candy at their machine out by the door way.

From here we ate the sugar, hit a tee shirt store and then went to Barnes & Noble on West 23rd. They gave us stickers, HP type glasses and a few work sheets. It was fun.

While we waited in line we heard one girl mention how no one in the store was going to get laid that night. It was an amusing comment.

After midnight, we got our books and headed out. Caught a cab. Came home, said good night and we each went to our reading. I read until 4 AM and then slept. Woke up the next morning and finished reading the book after 10 PM.

BJORK is going to be on SNL tonight.

We are debating if we should go and stalk her or not....
the decision is still up in the air.

We get to see her on May 2nd! It is amazing to me the number of good bands that travel through this metropolis. By the end of the summer I will have seen (if all goes as planned) a number of my favorite acts. This is an amazing city.

Robyn in the City

So....

This is the second time that I have been able to catch Robyn Hithcock on his current tour with the Venus 3 (aka - Minus 3, or Minus 5). The Venus 3 consist of Peter Buck (from REM), Bill rieflin (currently from REM, previously of Ministry & KMFDM) and Scott McCaughey (semi-member of REM & Minus 5 fame).

We got there a little later than I had wanted to, but my good friend Justin and his woman were there in line. We got to "Friendsy cuts" the line and then I blocked a few people from passing us. (THE NERVE OF THEM!). When we entered the bar, we headed right to the front of the stage. I brought my shiny new recorder and our digital camera. Christina was in charge of the photos.

The opening band was Johanna Kunin. She had a bit of a Bjork/Cocteau Twins feel to her. She was interesting, even if the lights were god horrible. One of her songs gave me a tan, and I never tan. She thanked a "special friend" in the audience "Beck." I never saw him there, but I tried to find him.

When she was done, Scott came out with the setlist and tuned the guitars and such. I talked with him while he was doing the wiring about playing with REM at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame gig. He was very honest and said "I kept asking myself what am I doing here?" and he also said something along the lines of "I would like to tell you that playing up on stage with Keith Richards sucked..." He was a cool guy. Neat rocketship (1950's retro shirt).

Robyn took the stage about 10. He played his songs that he wanted to. He diverted from the pre-arranged set list. Scott called him on it later.

A great show.

Chris got some amazing photos.

I got a great recording.

We hung out afterwards. I told Chris that I wanted to get a picture with Peter.

He came out to the merchandise table and signed 2 cds for me. Then I asked him for a photo. He obliged. Chris says this is her favorite picture of me, since I look SO HAPPY. I think I am a bit crazed, but whatever.

Then Robyn came out and chatted. I asked him for him to sign my ticket stub and then asked him for a photo. In the past, and I am talking about since 1991; Robyn never wants to get photos with fans. He said "I always look pissed at the person who is in the picture with me." This time.... he obliged.

This weekend I have finished my battle with the Bug/Viral infection thing that is running rampant at the workplace. I have even decided to share these cooties with my wife. She is loving every minute of it. She has even commented to me "I have never been so sick that I can not taste stuff.." Welcome to the sickness.

While being immobile for a few days I decided to catch up on some movies.

I watched 300 last night. Not a bad movie. My interest in it was the Greek story about it. I was familiar with it. I was able to convey the ENTIRE story to Chris in about 5 minutes, it took the film makers about 2 hours. Oh well. The only thing that made this movie so great, I am to assume, is that there wasn't anything else spectacular out at this time. Who knows.

007 - casino royale. I have a spot in my heart for these movies. My dad and I would rent the videos from Wegnmans and always watch them together. This one was different. Bond was not as "Bond-like." He was an average guy, no real gadgetry involved, no real hot hotties. Not a bad story, but not too compelling to grab you by the balls and not let go. The opening scene (after the credits) was cool with the chase scene through the construction yard.

You, Me and Dupree - a cute little romantic comedy. A typical stiller/wilson film. No real stretch here. Cute moments. Playing the role of Stiller was Matt Dillon.

Tenacious D - The pick of Destiny. Now this movie was ok. It is what it is. Don't expect anything too amazing to happen. Ben Stiller does a cameo in this one. It took Chris to point out the guy who I kept saying "Who is he?!?!?!"

Well we started our thank yous. They should go out before Bonzer hits town this weekend. We will be mailing our thanks, our love and our cooties to all soon :-)
